Garvin Clements is a songwriter, programmer, & multi-instrumentalist for the band Decomposing in Paris, and teaches Music Theory at the College. He previously spent four years studying Music Theory & Arranging Techniques under Trevor England. He has since become London College of Music’s premier Popular Music Theory tutor in Northern Ireland. A regular performer & prolific songwriter, in 2011 Garvin developed and led the “Lateral Songwriting” course, combining music theory, songwriting techniques and creativity studies.
Here are what his students have to say:
“I’d recommend him to anyone interested in learning about music.”
“I had never taken much of an interest in music theory and had never attempted an exam but after a few months of lessons with Garvin I was able to achieve a Distinction in Grade Five, and have been inspired to continue my studies in this field. I would put this down to his engaging and informative approach, and his knowledge and clear passion for the subject.”
