Recognised C.C.E.A. Examination Centre

The Ulster College of Music is unique in that it is the only Music School in Northern Ireland which is officially recognised by C.C.E.A. as an examination centre. This means that we can enter students for G.C.S.E. and A level and that the examination will take place in the College. We are proud that one of our students was, in 2001, selected to perform at C.C.E.A.’s concert as an example of the best candidates.

Gateway to Music Technology at Queen’s University Belfast

G.C.S.E. is often studied at the College by students who wish to pursue a course in Music Technology at Q.U.B. and thus far we are pleased that we have had 100% success rate in entrance to this faculty.

Teaching

G.C.S.E Classes are held at the College out of school hours, which allows students to continue with their regular classroom studies whilst completing the G.C.S.E Music course. The Classes are taken by experienced Secondary School Teacher, who are carefully selected by the UCM in order to assure that the standard of musical excellence is maintained across the College. All Tutors working with the G.C.S.E Classes have a strong academic record, an excellent grounding in performance and have completed their PGCE in Secondary Music.
